The Center for Creative Land RecyclingEPA BROWNFIELDS PROGRAMEPA's Brownfields Program empowers states, tribes, communities, and other stakeholders to work together to prevent, assess, safely clean up, and sustainably reuse brownfields. A brownfield site is real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. EPA funds eligible applicants through assistance agreements to provide training, research, and technical assistance to facilitate brownfields revitalization. ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTIONThe Center for Creative Land Recycling (CCLR or "See Clear") is a nonprofit organization focused on creating sustainable communities by identifying and implementing responsible patterns of land use and development. CCLR encourages and facilitates land recycling in ways that revitalize urban areas, discourage urban sprawl, and conserve greenspace. CCLR promotes the reuse and recycling of brownfields in fractured communities and discourages sprawl through creative private, public, and nonprofit partnerships. CCLR accomplishes its work through training, technical assistance, and small grants for communities that are attempting to turn around vacant or environmentally distressed properties.
