Northern Kentucky University's Institute for Public Leadership and Public AffairsEPA BROWNFIELDS PROGRAMEPA's Brownfields Program empowers states, tribes, communities, and other stakeholders to work together to prevent, assess, safely clean up, and sustainably reuse brownfields. A brownfield site is real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. EPA funds eligible applicants through assistance agreements to provide training, research, and technical assistance to facilitate brownfields revitalization. ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTIONNorthern Kentucky University (NKU) is located in Highland Heights, Kentucky, seven miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio. As part of its Brownfields grant, NKU and its Institute for Public Leadership and Public Affairs have produced a series of reports updating Brownfields Insurance Products availability and efforts by different states to promote brownfield insurance programs.
