| Critical Information | The Operational Demonstration Program assists CCEF in promoting the development of the clean energy technology industry in Connecticut by making funds available to early stage clean energy projects that rely on the innovative use or application of renewable energy resources or technology. Funding is available under this program to demonstrate new technologies or technology applications of renewable energy generation resources including solar, wind, ocean thermal, wave or tidal, run-of-the-river hydro, fuel cells, hydrogen generation and storage technologies, landfill gas, low-emission advanced biomass-conversion technologies, and usable electricity from combined heat and power (CHP) systems with waste-heat recovery systems. The program will provide a total of $4 million in funding for projects installed in Connecticut. The maximum amount of funding for each individual award is $750,000. Requests for funding above $500,000 must be justified, however, by the unique nature of the project, the project's large scale, or compelling potential benefits for Connecticut ratepayers. Projects must be over 1 kW. |

| Additional Information | Funding for the Operational Demonstration Program will be provided in the form of an unsecured loan, with repayment contingent upon the product achieving "commercial success." The CCEF will also collect an additional percentage of product revenues for products that exceed a higher revenue threshold. The fund requires a front-loaded 25 percent cash cost-share for any funding provided; in-kind contributions are accepted under certain conditions. Applicants must be entrepreneurs, developers or integrators of the technology they hope to commercialize, and must have a demonstrated long-term interest in commercializing the technology. |
