| Critical Information | Through their Sustainable Natural Alternative Power (SNAP) Program, the Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) offers an incentive payment to producers of renewable energy that are connected to GVEA's electrical grid. The purpose of SNAP is to connect producers of renewable energy with consumers that want to purchase their electricity from renewables. The value of the incentive payment is based on the amount (kWh) of renewable electricity generated by each producer, and the amount paid by each participating utility to its renewable energy producers is dependent on the number of customers participating in GVEA's green pricing program. Eligible sources are generators that are fueled by wind or solar energy and other alternative energy resources. Units are limited to 25 kW of generating capacity or less. The SNAP program runs from April 1 to March 31st of every year. |
