GI Energy (formerly Endurant Energy LLC) has a core business of developing, constructing and managing sustainable distributed power and thermal energy generation assets. The company is focused on developing ultra-efficient CHP projects that provide on-site electricity, thermal energy and backup power to commercial office buildings, data centers, campuses, hotels and critical facilities, capitalizing on currently available energy incentives and tax credits. GI Energy is working with leading building owners to develop new CHP and other power generation projects in the New York City metropolitan area and California, where it currently manages/services more than 20 CHP plants. Additionally, the firm provides consulting and advisory services related to CHP technical feasibility studies, utility interconnection and in-depth tariff analysis, system operations, efficiency & control innovations, and project financing.
GI Energy also has experience assisting facility owners, land developers, and municipalities in other distributed energy planning, including backup power generation, microgrids, anaerobic digester/biogas power generation, landfill gas-to-electricity, and sustainable district energy (DE) systems. GI Energy's other core business, pioneered by its UK team (formerly Geothermal International Ltd.) and now expanding out of Chicago, focuses on ground source heat pump (GSHP) design and deployment. The company's overarching aim is to help customers leverage advanced distributed energy technologies to hedge high/volatile energy prices, improve energy reliability, reduce environmental impacts and increase asset value.
