Incentive Size and Funding SourceIn 2009 the Honolulu City Council passed Bill 58, making alternative energy property installed on a building, property or land exempt from 100% of property taxes for 25 years.
Eligible RecipientOwners of commercial, industrial or residential properties that install alternative energy sources including solar, wind, hydropower, tidal, wave, solid waste and increased efficiency in fossil-fuel burning facilities are eligible. Energy sources based on fossil fuels, nuclear fuels or geothermal energy are not eligible for this exemption.
