| Incentive Size and Funding Source | Mississippi offers low-interest loans for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. The interest rate is 2% below the prime rate, with a maximum loan term of 10 years. Loans will be given in amounts not to exceed $500,000 per business. This program is supported by a revolving loan fund of $7 million that was established through federal oil overcharge funds from the US Department of Energy. |
| Eligible Recipient | The Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund provides loans to businesses that are increasing energy efficiency in their buildings, equipment and processes. Eligible entities include, corporations, public school districts, hospitals (Public and Private "non-profit"), institutions of higher learning, sole proprietors and partnerships, and national or regional headquarters. Additionally, eligible entities must promote the development and demonstration of efficient, environmentally acceptable and commercially feasible technology and processes, and also use Mississippi's existing energy resources, public utilities and/or develop resources that foster economic growth. |

| Other Selected Eligibility Criteria | Job creation and the use of energy efficient practices are the goal of the Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund, and all projects must demonstrate that they will reduce a facility's energy costs. |
