|Incentive Size and Funding Source||REIP offers financial incentives to sustainable biopower projects installed behind the meter at customer sites. CHP systems powered by sustainable biomass may be eligible for REIP incentives. Projects must generate electricity (and thermal energy, if a CHP system is proposed) with sustainable Class I biomass resources.|
Applicants should request the minimum incentive necessary to make their project economically feasible and ensure its timely completion. The maximum incentive available is $750,000 per project or 30% of the project's total installed cost after deducting any other incentives. An entity may submit multiple projects in a solicitation round, but the total incentive requested for those projects must not exceed $1,125,000. The current solicitation for FY2014 has a budget of $2,500,000.
