Final Rule Information: Parent Company/NAICS Code Amendments

On September 16, 2010, Administrator Jackson signed an amendment to the General Provisions (subpart A) of the Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule (40 CFR part 98). This amendment requires facilities and suppliers reporting GHG emissions under Part 98 to also report their parent company companies, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes that apply to the facility/supplier and whether or not reported emissions reported include those from a cogeneration unit. These reporting elements are to be included in the first annual GHG emissions reports submitted to EPA on March 31, 2011 and in all future years.
