| Reasons for Joining Climate Leaders Bartlett Brainard Eacott has joined the Climate Leaders program to demonstrate its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to aid in the development of "best practices" for other construction companies to employ in order to reduce their greenhouse gas contributions. Bartlett Brainard Eacott has employed several strategies to reduce fossil fuel consumption, minimize particulate matter on construction sites (both indoor and outdoor), reduce the volume of material directed to landfills and reduce volatile organic compounds (VOC's) both in manufactured goods as well as on site operations. Bartlett Brainard Eacott has assisted numerous clients in developing sustainable projects while achieving significant operating cost savings. We have incorporated a broad range of technologies (geo-thermal, solar and gray-water re-use) combined with practical management practices to reduce human aftereffects on our projects. Through a coordinated corporate effort we are focused on reducing our carbon footprint, indoor air quality problems, fossil-fuel depletion, airborne particulates, water use, cancer risks and ecotoxicity. As a company we have made a commitment to learning more about and promoting preservation of our environment and natural resources. We support training and certification of our staff through the USGBC's LEED AP+ program and have developed an internal training program available to staff and clients. The EPA Climate Leaders program is a natural next step in our plan to educate our staff and clients to affect positive change in our industry.
