Compliance Assistance Centers
Funding opportunity
EPA is issuing Request for Initial Proposals (RFIP) to continue the development and maintenance of Compliance Assistance Centers addressing:
- Local Government
- Printing
- Healthcare
Additionally, EPA is issuing a Request for Initial Proposals for a single entity to continue the development and maintenance of five Compliance Assistance Centers addressing:
- Construction
- Metal Finishing
- Paints and Coatings
- Transportation
- U.S. Boarder, Import/Export, Port Environmental Issues
The Web-based Compliance Assistance Centers offer easy access to plain-language materials and resources on environmental compliance. Only those applicants whose initial proposal meets the threshold criteria addressed in the Compliance Assistance Center Platform RFIP will be invited to submit a final proposal.
Prepare proposals as specified in the:
- Local Government Environmental Assistance Network (PDF) (12 pp, 102K, About PDF)
- Construction, Metal Finishing, Paints and Coatings, Transporation, and US Border, Import/Export and Port Issues (PDF) (12 pp, 104K, About PDF)
Submit proposals to EPA by November 27, 2009, 4:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Compliance Assistance Centers help businesses, local governments, and federal facilities understand and comply with federal environmental requirements and save money through pollution prevention techniques. The Centers offer easy access to plain-language materials and other resources on environmental compliance through:
- web sites targeted to industry sectors,
- virtual plant tours,
- telephone assistance,
- "ask the expert,"
- email discussion groups,
- State Resource Locators
that offer a wide range of topics on environmental compliance information for your state.
Compliance Assistance Centers are sponsored by EPA in partnership with industry, academic institutions, environmental groups, and other agencies.
