Air Financial Information Providers and Resources
EPA and other entities have created numerous documents and tools to assist municipal officials as they develop a financing plan. Below are links to selected sites containing financing information. This is not an exhaustive listing of available financial information providers and resources, but it highlights some resources from the vast array of available tools. Information and resources relating to municipal revenue-generating authority, grants, loans and bonds can be found on the Financing Options link listed on the right side toolbar. While these resources are available to all communities, small communities and tribes can access specialized resources.
Providers
Environmental Finance Centers (EFCs)The nine EFCs are located across the nation. They provide state and local officials and small businesses with advisory services, education, publications, training, technical assistance, and analyses on financing alternatives.
EPA Office of Air and Radiation Grants and Funding
This Web page provides access to information about funding opportunities available from EPA's Office of Air and Radiation that are subject to the Agency's competition policy. The site is updated as grants and other funding opportunities become available.
EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) Grants and Funding – National Clean Diesel Campaign
Provides a list of grants available to communities and private business to help reduce diesel emissions.
EPA OTAQ Innovative Financing for Fuel-Efficient Technologies
The SmartWay Transport Partnership is a voluntary collaboration between U.S. EPA and the freight industry designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution. SmartWay Transport is using Small Business Administration lending programs to help small trucking companies save fuel and reduce pollution through “SmartWay Transport Truck Loans. These loans are available to small trucking companies to help pay for technologies that will save fuel and money while reducing pollution.
EPA OTAQ Idling Reduction: Innovative Funding and Incentive Opportunities
Contains information about federal, state, and nonprofit organizations funding that can be used for the reduction of emissions from long-duration truck and locomotive idling.
The Local Government Environmental Assistance Network (LGEAN)
This site is a "first-stop shop" providing environmental management, planning, funding, and regulatory information for local government elected and appointed officials, managers and staff. LGEAN enables local officials to interact with their peers and others online. In an effort to reach all local governments, LGEAN also manages a toll-free telephone number.

Contains links to various centers available to answer questions about environmental regulations based on industry type.
Department of Commerce Economic Development Agency
Empowers distressed communities to revitalize, expand, and upgrade their physical infrastructure to attract new industry, encourage business expansion, diversify local economies, and generate or retain long-term, private sector jobs and investment.
