Participants at the conference developed an environmental crime enforcement and prevention awareness package that can be used as support material by both teachers and environmental enforcement personnel when making presentations to middle school students.

The package includes:

  1. A book that includes a group of environmental criminal characters and environmental crime enforcement team characters. The book uses comic book type characters to teach the students about environmental crimes.

  2. A short video that talks about environmental violations and highlights a mother and son who observe what looks like environmental-criminal activity and report their observations to the proper authorities.

  3. A poster that commemorates National Environmental Crime Prevention Week 2003. The winning poster became the official poster of NECPW 2003 Conference and is featured on this and other web sites related to the NECPW.

The 2003 winner is from Rotolo Middle School in Batavia, Illinois.
