The Tronox Incorporated bankruptcy settlement provides for the payment of funds, either directly to environmental regulators or through the trusts created pursuant to the settlement agreement, in connection with numerous sites and facilities throughout the country. The payments for these sites will address a wide variety of environmental contamination.
The following is a brief overview of the sites and facilities addressed by the settlement agreement where EPA is the lead agency, including the Savannah, Georgia facility, where the state is the lead agency:

Abandoned Uranium Mines in or near the Navajo Nation territory

Site Description
- The sites covered by the settlement agreement include forty-nine former uranium mines in and near the Navajo Nation territory in the southwest of the U.S., and may also include certain additional mines listed in Attachment B to the settlement agreement, if designated in the future.

- Payment to EPA of $12,039,562 and 20 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.

Federal Creosote Superfund Site, Manville, N.J.

Site Description
- The Federal Creosote Site in Manville, N.J. was operated as a coal tar wood treatment facility from 1910 to 1958.

- Payment to EPA of $2,908,702 and 4.85 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.

Flat Top Mine, Ludlow, S.D.

Site Description
- The Flat Top Mine in Ludlow, S.D. is a former uranium mine, which was operated by a corporate predecessor of Tronox.

- Payment to EPA of $631,978 and 1 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.
Former wood treating site, Columbus, Miss.

Site Description
- The site is a former wood treating facility in Columbus, Miss., where creosote and pentachlorophenol (PCP) were used to treat wood.

Funding Level
- Payment to the multistate environmental response trust of $5,520,102 and 1.5 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds. Payment to EPA of $5,386 and 0.003 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.
Former wood treating site, Meridian, Miss.

Site Description
- The site is a former wood treating facility in Meridian, Miss., where creosote and PCP solutions were primarily used to treat wood.

Funding Level
- Payment to the multistate environmental response trust of $1,298,956 and 0.5 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.
Kerr-McGee Chemical Corporation Superfund Site, Navassa, N.C.

Site Description
- The Navassa Site is approximately 300 acres and was used as a creosote-based wood treating facility in Navassa, N.C. from the mid-1930s until 1974.

- Payment to the multistate environmental response trust of $4,208,555 and 2 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds. Payment to EPA of $1,896 and 0.003 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.

Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp-Jacksonville Superfund Site, Jacksonville, Fla.

Site Description
- The Jacksonville Site is approximately 31 acres and was operated as a fertilizer and pesticide formulating, packaging, and distribution facility from 1893 to 1978.

- Payment to the multistate environmental response trust of $4,220,981 and 2 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds. Payment to EPA of $1,896 and 0.003 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.

Kerr-McGee Chemical Corporation Superfund Site, Soda Springs, Idaho

Site Description
- The Soda Springs Site is approximately 158 acres and was operated as a vanadium extraction and processing plant.

Kerr-McGee Superfund Sites, West Chicago, Ill.

Site Description
- The West Chicago Sites are contaminated properties associated with the former Rare Earths Facility. There are four Superfund sites in the area that are contaminated by radioactive thorium waste material.

Funding Level
- Payment to the West Chicago environmental response trust of $10,356,820, which includes funding for administrative costs but excludes financial assurance and other assets being contributed to the trust. Payment to EPA of $111,115 and 0.2 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.

Lindsay Light Removal Sites, Chicago, Ill.

Site Description
- The Lindsay Light Sites are located in Chicago, Ill. and relate to Tronox’s corporate predecessor’s thorium processing activities in the area.

Moss-American Superfund Site, Milwaukee, Wis.

Site Description
- The Moss-American Site in Milwaukee, Wis. comprises 88 acres, including a former creosote facility and six miles of the Little Menomonee River, which is adjacent to the former facility.

Site Description
- The North Cave Hills/Riley Pass Mine Site covers approximately 325 acres, where Tronox’s corporate predecessor performed extensive mining operations.

Quivira Church Rock Mine Site, N.M.

Site Description
- The Quivira Church Rock Mine Site is a former uranium mine in McKinley County, N.M. and is associated with the Abandoned Uranium Mines in The Navajo Nation.

- Payment to EPA of $1,263,956 and 2 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.

Toledo Tie Treatment Site, Toledo, Ohio

Site Description
- The Toledo Tie Treatment Site is located in Toledo, Ohio and was part of a 50-acre railroad tie treatment facility.

- Payment to EPA of $191,231 and 0.113 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.
Tronox Pigments (Savannah) Inc. facility, Savannah, Ga.

Site Description
- The facility is located on a 1,600-acre site in Savannah, Ga., and includes a titanium dioxide pigment plant and a sulfuric acid plant. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, is the lead agency with respect to the facility.

Funding Level
- Payment to the Savannah environmental response trust of $7,107,355, which includes funding for administrative costs, and 1.285 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds. Payment to EPA of $6,320 and 0.01 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.
Welsbach and General Gas Mantle Contamination Superfund Site, Camden and Gloucester City, N.J.

- The Welsbach Site is comprised of two former gas mantle manufacturing sites and numerous residential properties in the cities of Camden and Gloucester City, N.J.

White King/Lucky Lass Superfund Site, Lakeview, Ore.

Site Description
- The White King/Lucky Lass Site includes two abandoned uranium mines in Lakeview, Ore. Uranium mining between 1955 and the mid-1960's resulted in contamination of the site with arsenic and radionuclides.

- Payment to EPA of $448,812 and 0.25 percent of the Anadarko Litigation proceeds.
