A draft of the Cleaner Technologies Substitutes Assessment: Lithographic Blanket Washes was released for public comment in July 1996. A Federal Register Notice of Availability for Comment was published August 7, 1996, establishing a 45-day comment period. Written comments were received from three parties. These comments were reviewed and incorporated as appropriate.

This document is designed to be the repository for the technical information developed through the DFE Lithographic Printing Partnership. A summary booklet intended for printing industry professionals has been developed entitled Solutions for Lithographic Printers: An Evaluation of Substitute Blanket Washes (EPA/744-F-96-009) that captures much of this information in a simpler, more user-friendly format.
