Formulator Program Findings & Accomplishments
Formulator Program Home | About This Project | Findings & Accomplishments | Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative | Publications | Partners and Recognized Products To improve a product's environmental and human health profile, a formulator must be able to find suitable alternative ingredients. Those ingredients must have positive environmental characteristics, but also the right performance characteristics to be appropriate functional replacements. The following tables present DfE's preliminary efforts in scoping
out key substitute information for three ingredient classes: Nonionic
Surfactants, Builders/Chelators, and Solvents. DfE intends to add
to these lists and develop similar information for other chemical
classes as the project progresses. Table 1: Selected Properties for Non-Ionic Surfactants [PDF] (30.6 KB) Table 2: Selected Properties for Representative Builders and Chelators [PDF] (26.4 KB) Table 3: Selected Properties for Representative Solvents [PDF] (25.7 KB)
