Top Stories![]() EPA Cites Pesticides Practices of Puerto Rico Agency EPA has cited the Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture (PRDA) for allegedly violating federal pesticide and worker protection regulations. A series of investigations conducted by EPA revealed that PRDA was using pesticides in ways that were inconsistent with their labeling. These practices included failing to mix pesticides properly with the soil, using them inappropriately, putting workers and pesticide handlers in potential danger, and applying pesticides on crops for which they were not approved for use. ![]() EPA Begins Construction of Water Line for Upper Hudson Communities EPA has announced that a subcontract has been awarded to W.M. Schultz Construction, Inc, to build a four-and-a-half mile long water line from Troy, New York to the towns of Waterford and Halfmoon. The water line will be used, if needed, as an alternate water source during the Hudson River dredging project. Construction has begun and is scheduled to be completed by April 1, 2009, before the scheduled start of dredging in May 2009. Regional News Releases
