Regional Administrator Attends Clean Air Event

Richard Greene, Regional Administrator, joined Dallas Mayor Laura Miller and Clean Energy founder Boone Pickens at groundbreaking ceremonies today, April 26, 2005, for a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicular fueling station at Dallas Love Field.

"Clean air in Dallas and Fort Worth is an issue that affects us all," remarked Administrator Greene. "It will take all of us working together to solve it. Today's groundbreaking shows how government at every level is working hand-in-hand with business to find solutions. I commend Dallas and Mayor Miller for their leadership."

The purpose is to promote alternative fuel usage by airport shuttle services as well as to make the cleaner fuel more available to Dallas' expanding Compressed Natural Gas-fueled vehicle fleet. The City currently operates more than 1,200 vehicles fueled by CNG. A second CNG station is being built near downtown Dallas.

"Promoting clean air throughout the Dallas area continues to challenge our resources," said Mayor Miller. "We are pleased to establish this relationship with Clean Energy to expand the needed CNG fueling infrastructure in our city." The partnership leverages the city's funds and taxpayer dollars while helping benefit the environment by encouraging clean transportation. Dallas is providing the land and paving improvements. Clean Energy, Seal Beach CA, is providing the equipment and installation under a 10-year operating agreement.
