Combined Sewer Regulator Overflow Facilities Report
Abstract
Current design, operation and maintenance practices used by local jurisdictions in the United States and Canada were determined by personal interviews and compiled in the report. Particular attention was given to the performance of various types of regulators, the use of tide gates, new designs, European practices and the systems concept of combined sewer regulation. Thirty-seven drawings and photographs of regulators are included. Seventeen recommendations are made, the adoption of which would upgrade regulator facilities and tend to reduce receiving water pollution from combined sewer overflows.
