  4. Description: NCEH is collaborating with the National Cancer Institute on a study for which weanalyzed 344 serum specimens for individual congener PCBs and selectedorganochlorine pesticides. The Breast Cancer Serum Bank in Columbia collected thesamples between 1977 and 1987 from 7641 women. All were free of cancer when theirsamples were taken, but since then, 112 have developed breast cancer. NCI hasreceived the results of our analyses and is now analyzing the data.
