1st International Conference on SF6 and the Environment
This conference brought together 185 attendees from 11 countries representing the electric utility industry, magnesium industry, and other interested parties to discuss and learn about a wide array of issues related to the use, handling, and management of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), an extremely potent greenhouse gas that contributes to global climate change. The plenary sessions covered issues of interest to both industries, e.g., updates on domestic and international initiatives relating to SF6, and the general policy and science of global climate change. For most of the two-day conference, representatives from the two industries pursued separate tracks with sessions designed specifically for their industry.
