Chemicals: Consists of all entity types that contain data related to EPA chemicals.
Program Office Systems: Consists of reference tables containing identification data about the EPA program office systems that contain environmental data.
EPA Organization: Consists of an entity that contains identification data about EPA offices.
The tables in the Chemicals subject area are linked by the EMCI internal reference number (EMCIRN), which is the same number as the CAS Registry Number (CASRN) where the CASRN has been identified. The Chemical Substance table (CHEM_SUBST) is the master list of unique substances contained in EMCI. The Substance Relationship table type (SUBST_REL) provides a linkage among chemicals contained in a group, such as a category or mixture. The System Chemical table (SYS_CHEM) identifies chemicals contained in program office systems by their EMCIRN. SYS_CHEM also identifies the Envirofacts program system components that contain data for a given chemical and the identifier used by the component for that chemical substance.
The Program Systems table (PRGM_SYS) is a reference table that identifies the program office systems referenced in SYS_CHEM by SYS_CODE.
The EPA Office table (EPA_OFFICE) is a reference table that identifies the EPA office that manages a program office system referenced by OFF_ACRN in PRGM_SYS.
Environmental data, based on chemical identity are obtained by linking the SYS_CHEMID for the desired chemical and system with the following entities and attributes:
