Facility Registry Service (FRS)

Why FRS Matters to You

The Facility Registry Service (FRS) identifies and geospatially locates facilities, sites, or places of environmental interest that are subject to regulation. Using rigorous verification and data management procedures, FRS integrates facility data from EPA’s national program systems, other federal agencies, and state and tribal master facility records.

FRS provides EPA with a centrally managed, single source of comprehensive and authoritative information on facilities. FRS serves as the geospatial and facility integration component to Envirofacts and many other EPA mapping, query, and multi-media analysis applications.

Data Stewards

FRS is supported by a network of data stewards with geographic and programmatic expertise. Data stewardship is embraced as a core EPA value and a prerequisite to high-quality data.
