Applications That Use LRT

There are many Agency applications that utilize locational information from the LRT. Any application that displays facility points from the National Shapefile Repository or the EPA Spatial Data Library System (ESDLS) is utilizing coordinates from the LRT. Three applications that are accessible through the Envirofacts Warehouse are as follows:

Window to My Environment

Window to My Environment (WME) is a Geographic Information System (GIS) application that provides a wide range of federal, state, and local information about environmental conditions and features in an area of your choice. WME uses the LRT as a link to the Envirofacts business data in Oracle, and also to map EPA-regulated facilities.

EnviroMapper for Envirofacts

EnviroMapper uses the LRT as a link to the Envirofacts business data in Oracle, and displays locations of EPA-regulated facilities using the coordinates available from the LRT. EnviroMapper graphically assigns symbols (colors) to facility locations using the column MAP_SYMBOL_CODE from the table LRT_EF_COVERAGE_SRC. This is a two-digit code representing the program system to which that facility reports. If a facility reports to more than one system, the code value is '00', which indicates 'multiple'.

Facility Location Information

This report lists source program coordinate records for a given facility, using columns PGM_SYS_LATITUDE and PGM_SYS_LONGITUDE from the table LRT_EF_COVERAGE_SRC. It also displays the collection method and accuracy value for each coordinates, and indicates which of these source records contains the most accurate coordinate for mapping.
