Subpart I: Certain Federal Facilities
| Description of Source: | Subpart I applies to those federal facilities that are not regulated elsewhere. The following facilities are not covered by Subpart I:

| The Standard: | Subpart I limits radionuclide emissions in two ways:

| Reporting Requirements: | Facility owners and operators must calculate the effective dose equivalent
each year and report to EPA annually. Annual reports will include a list of the radioactive materials used at the facility; a description of the handling and processing that radioactive materials undergo at the facility; a list of emission points and their distances to the nearest residence, school, business/office, and producing farm; and a brief description of all construction or modifications made to the facility during the year. Facilities are exempt from these reporting requirements if the calculated effective dose equivalent from all emissions from the facility is less than 10% of the standard. Facilities that are not in compliance must report monthly to EPA.
Facility owners and operators must also apply to EPA to construct or modify a facility, unless:
