Description: The total annual release quantities of the chemical to air, water, on-site land, and underground injection wells. (Data in TRI_RELEASE_QTY were submitted on EPA Form R, Part II, Section 5.)

5.1 Fugitive emissions are releases to air not released through a confined air stream.

5.2 Point source air emissions occur through confined air streams such as stacks, vents, ducts, or pipes.

5.3 Releases to water include discharges to streams, rivers, lakes, oceans and other bodies of water.

5.4.1 Class I wells are industrial, municipal, and manufacturing related wells which inject fluids into deep, confined and isolated formations below potable water supplies.

5.4.2 Class II are oil and gas related wells. Class III wells are associated with the solution mining of minerals. Class IV wells have an injection as part of an authorized CERCLA/RCRA clean up operation. Class V wells do not fall under I-IV and are, generally, shallow drainage wells.

5.5.1A RCRA Subtitle C landfills are authorized under RCRA to accept hazardous waste for disposal and must follow stringent guidelines for their design and operation..

5.5.1B Other landfills are those not authorized under Subtitle C of RCRA to accept hazardous wastes that may be regulated under a variety of other Federal, state, and local programs.

5.5.2 Land treatment and application farming refer to the incorporation of waste into the soil where the waste degrades in the soil.
