Entity and Attribute Information

The TRI entity types (database tables) are organized into the following six subject areas:

 Activities: Contains entity types related to activities and uses of toxic chemicals at TRI facilities. The supporting entity types are:

  • TRI_CHEM_MANUFACTURING

  • TRI_CHEM_PROCESSING

  • TRI_CHEM_USAGE

  • TRI_SOURCE_REDUCT

     Businesses: Contains entity types related to business information associated with the facility such as parent company, DUNS number, and mailing address. The supporting entity types are:

  • TRI_BUSINESS_CLASSIF

  • TRI_MAILING_LOC

     Facilities: Contains entity types related to basic identifying information about facilities. The supporting entity types are:

  • TRI_FACILITY

  • TRI_HIST_FACIL

  • TRI_MONITORING_PROG

  • TRI_PREFERRED_LOC

  • TRI_SIC_CODE

  • TRI_SUBMISSION

  • TRI_ZIP_CODE

     Releases: Contains entity types related to total aggregate releases of toxic chemicals to the environment from facilities. The supporting entity types are:

  • TRI_AIR_EMISSION

  • TRI_LAND_RELEASE

  • TRI_UNDERGROUND_INJECTION

  • TRI_WATER_DISCHARGE

  • TRI_TRANSFER_LOC

  • TRI_TRANS_POTW6

  • TRI_TRANS_POTW8

     Toxic Chemicals: Contains entity types related to information reported on the Toxic Chemical Release Inventory Reporting Form (EPA Form R) for chemicals listed on the Section 313 Toxic Chemical List. This includes transfers of the chemical to off-site locations, on-site treatments to the reported chemical, and quantities of the chemical recycled and used for energy recovery on-site or sent off-site. The supporting entity types are:

  • TRI_CHEM_QUANTITY

  • TRI_CHEM_REPORT

  • TRI_CHEM_INFO

  • TRI_CHEM_WASTE

  • TRI_TREATMENT_METHOD

  • TRI_ENERGY_RECOVERY
