Timeline and development checklist [PDF, 63 KB, 2 pages, about PDF]
This checklist is an extract from Education Projects in the Office of Water, A How-to-Guide for Developing Environmental Education Projects (EPA 800-B-99-001).
Step 3: Establish Timeline and Identify Needs and Resources
Now that you have established a goal and identified the audience for your Web site, it is crucial to identify needs such as time, cost, and money. To determine your needs:
- Identify a time-frame and create deadlines to keep site development on schedule
- Determine your budget and, if necessary, identify any resources that may be able to provide funding or technical assistance
- Determine all resources that will be needed for both development and maintenance
- Identify application deployment or hosting costs. See EPA's Web Guide for details about technologies and hosting options offered by EPA.
- Allocate personnel: identify who will be needed and for what length of time.
