Metadata in the <head>

Meta elements (tags) generally provide additional information about the document to search engines. These metadata elements aid in building epa.gov's information architecture. They're probably one of the most important bits of your pages as you migrate into the WebCMS. It's very important to get it right.
In general, for existing pages, your current meta elements, if any, will carry over and the new ones will be added in. For new pages, you'll have to fill in the correct information.
