Life at EPA

Erika L. Bolden Working at EPA has exceeded my expectations. As an Environmental Engineer in EPA Region 4's Air Enforcement Section, I apply federal regulations dealing with the Clean Air Act to specific industries. I inspect targeted facilities to determine compliance status and assist state and local environmental agencies in developing and implementing regulations. I have been employed with EPA for seven months and graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a BS in electrical engineering. I decided to work at EPA because it offered me the opportunity to go home from work every day knowing I did something to make this world a better place for future generations. The most satisfying thing is seeing the efforts of this region appreciated by an underprivileged community that is getting involved and demanding cleaner air from neighboring facilities. The people I work with are amazing and we share a genuine concern for our environment. |
