INTRODUCTION The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)/ Underground Storage Tank (UST), Superfund and Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA) Hotline was established to respond to inquiries from the regulated community, state and local officials, and the public concerning waste management and disposal regulations, emergency planning practices and regulations, and the public's right-to-know about hazardous and toxic chemicals. The Hotline also serves as a reference point on the availability and distribution of program related materials. Each month the RCRA/UST, Superfund and EPCRA Hotline produces a Monthly Hotline Report that contains, among other information, a question and answer section. This document, The Hotline Compendium: An Index to Monthly Hotline Report Questions (June 1982- December 1994), provides four indices to these questions and answers. These indices allow the reader flexibility in searching for questions dealing with a specific topic and provide a comprehensive reference to almost 12 years of reports. The first index is an alphabetical listing of question titles by year and month. The second index organizes the questions by regulatory citation, beginning with 40 CFR Part 248. This index is useful for identifying questions affecting specific portions of the regulations. For example, under the heading "40 CFR 260.10 - Definitions" is a question entitled "Definition of Existing Portion" from the August 1982 Monthly Hotline Report. Similarly, the third index organizes the questions by statutory citation. This index references questions by the applicable RCRA or CERCLA citation. For example, the question entitled "Oil Sheen" from the March 1985 Report is referenced under CERCLA "Section 103 - Notices, Penalties." Finally, the key word index references the questions by key word or subject heading. For example, under the key word "Chlorine" you would find two questions: "Section 311/312: Exemptions" from the March 1990 report and "SARA 313 Exemptions" from the June 1990 report.
