Composting presents an important opportunity for expanding your current recycling program. Composting is natures way of recycling organic matter, such as food scraps and yard trimmings, through decomposition. Through composting, organics are recycled into a nutrient-rich soil amendment similar to fertilizer. While similar to recycling, additional factors must be taken into consideration when developing a food scraps composting program.
