The map shows the states that have been authorized for different monthly generation categories than the federal regulations specify. This chart is based purely on monthly generation quantity limits for hazardous waste (HW) and acute hazardous waste and does not take into account differences in state accumulation limits, generation rates for spill residues, or contaminated media.
