On June 24, 2014, DoD, GSA, and NASA issued an interim rule amending the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to clarify the requirement for federal agencies to procure EPEAT registered imaging equipment (i.e., copiers, digital duplicators, facsimile machines, mailing machines, multifunction devices, printers, and scanners) and televisions in addition to personal computer products.
The rule adds contract clauses for imaging equipment and televisions that federal purchasers must add to contracts for these products.
Although it is an interim rule and the public has an opportunity to comment, the FAR changes are effective as of June 24, 2014.
