The Greenhouse Gas Technology Center is operated in cooperation with Southern Research Institute . This center verifies the performance of commercial-ready technologies that produce, mitigate, monitor or sequester greenhouse gas emissions. This center is no longer accepting new applications for technologies to be verified. The center will conclude operations in September 2013.
Southern Research Institute will continue to offer third-party verifications of technologies as an independent effort after the ETV center closes. For additional details, please contact Tim Hansen, Southern Research Institute, (919) 282-1052.
Verified Technologies
Technologies that control greenhouse gases help to protect human health and our ecological resources by reducing or preventing environmental risks. This center has verified technologies in a range of categories, including advanced energy production, waste-to-energy conservation, oil and gas production and transmission and other energy efficiency technologies. View All Verified Technologies for This Center.
Additionally, the center conducted a pre-verification technology assessment for gasification of aqueous sludge from paper mills and wastewater treatment. The purpose of the study was to evaluate existing sludge gasification technologies, their impacts and stages of technology development. Critical components and impacts of these technologies were identified and quantified to assess development status, potential benefits and drawbacks and environmental and economic impacts. Please see State-of-the-Science Technology Assessments for more information.
