 Safe Buildings Air Filtration and Cleaning

  From 2003 to 2004, this effort verified the performance of technologies that can remove chemical or biological agents from building ventilation air. Resulting data can be used by architects; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) design engineers; building owners; facility managers; governmental agencies; and other decision makers. These technologies were verified through a contract with RTI International.

In 2004, testing of these types of technologies was transferred to EPA’s National Homeland Security Research Center (NHSRC) under its Technology Testing and Evaluation program.
