Research Triangle Institute International's (RTI International) Environmental Technology Verification Center Offers New Incentive for Baghouse Filter Verification TestingRelease date: 06/10/2005 Contact: Jane Ice (513) 569-7311 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASERESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (June 10, 2005) – As part of an effort to encourage the development of innovative or improved technologies that reduce fine particle emissions from baghouses, the Air Pollution Control Technology Center is offering to provide 50 percent of the cost for verification testing of filter media. The program, which is managed by RTI International in partnership with the U.S. EPA's Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program, is a voluntary, non-regulatory program that verifies environmental performance characteristics of commercial-ready technologies through the evaluation of objective, quality-assured data. Funds are immediately available for 50 percent cost share. Ten tests are available on a first-come, first-served basis for $3,800 per test. Test data are used to assess the performance of the technology through an independent, credible assessment. EPA's Office of Research and Development established the ETV program to verify the performance of innovative and improved technical solutions to problems that threaten human health or the environment. ETV is part of an effort to accelerate the entrance of new and improved environmental technologies into the domestic and international marketplaces.
