Underground Storage Tank Automatic Tank Gauging Systems
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of automatic tank gauging (ATG) leak detection technologies for use with ethanol blended fuels. A draft test/quality assurance plan has been developed with input from representatives of industry associations, state and federal governments, and users, including the National Working Group for Leak Detection Evaluations, EPA Office of Underground Storage Tanks, and American Petroleum Institute. Federal regulations require leak detection technologies to be utilized, but the current detection equipment test protocols do not address fuels other than traditional, petroleum-based fuels. This new ETV test/quality assurance plan is an extension of the existing ATG EPA protocol to include ethanol blended fuels.

Drinking Water Treatment Technologies
The center is soliciting vendors for verification testing of emerging and innovative drinking water treatment technologies and equipment, and collaborators who may assist in providing resources for technical evaluations. As funding is available, technologies of interest are those that address the following issues:
- Contaminants regulated under the Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule, particularly membrane separation and ultraviolet or other inactivation processes
- Technologies to address the Groundwater Rule and arsenic, radium, uranium, and other existing drinking water rules
- Contaminants being considered, proposed, reviewed, or evaluated by EPA for regulation
- Water conservation and reuse (e.g., the Great Lakes and other areas have been losing water to evaporation and other effects of global climate change)
- Reductions in energy consumption and energy efficiency for drinking water treatment, such as the safe use of nanotechnology in treatment or energy recovery systems integrated into treatment equipment
- Drinking water treatment technologies that reduce the volume, hazard and/or risk of residuals.
