This applet simulates flow in a one-dimensional column that can be packed with materials of different hydraulic conductivities, segment lengths and diameters. The applet demonstrates:
- Head loss along the length of the column
- Increased head loss with decreased hydraulic conductivity (decrease conductivity in a segment)
- Constant volume flux through the column
