Notice of Availability of a Finding of No Significant Impact 
(FONSI) for the Construction of an 18-hole Golf Course at Andrews Air 
Force Base, Maryland



    The U.S. Air Force (USAF) is proposing the construction of an 18-
hole golf course in accordance with the National Environmental Policy 
Act (NEPA) the Council on Environmental Quality regulations 
implementing NEPA, the Department of Defense Directive (DOD) 6050.1, 
and Air Force Instruction 32-7061. These directives require the USAF to 
consider environmental consequences when authorizing or approving 
federal actions.

    The USAF has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) analyzing 
the potential environmental consequences of the proposed golf course 
construction.

    On the basis of the EA, we conclude the implementation of the 
proposed action will not have a significant effect on the quality of 
the environment at Andrews Air Force Base and, as a result, an 
Environmental Impact Statement is not warranted.
    Comments on this FONSI must be received on or before 16 Aug 95 and
