Big Bend Timber Sale, Umpqua National Forest, Douglas and Lane 
County, Oregon



AGENCY: Forest Service, USDA.



ACTION: Cancellation of an environmental impact statement.






SUMMARY: On March 29, 1991, a Notice of Intent to prepare an 
environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Big Bend Timber Sale on 
the North Umpqua Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest was 
published in the Federal Register (56 FR 13105). A draft EIS was 
released to public November 1991. A notice of Availability for the 
draft EIS was published in the Federal Register on November 8, 1991 (56 
FR 57330). The comment period on the draft EIS ended December 23, 1991. 
Forest Service has decided to cancel the environmental analysis 
process. There will be no final EIS for the Big Bend Timber Sale. The 
Notice of Intent is hereby rescinded.
