Pacific Gas & Electric Company; Notice of Availability of Final 
Environmental Assessment



May 24, 1996.

    A final environmental assessment (FEA) is available for public 
review. The FEA is for an application to amend the Upper North Fork 
Feather River Hydroelectric Project. The application is to extend the 
project boundary to include about 8 acres of land in the vicinity of 
the Belden Siphon to allow for stabilization of the siphon. The FEA 
finds that approval of the application would not constitute a major 
federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human 
environment. The Upper North Fork Feather River Hydroelectric Project 
is located on the North Fork Feather River in Plumas County, 
California.

    The FEA was written by staff in the Office of Hydropower Licensing, 
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Copies of the FEA can be viewed 
in the Public Reference Branch, Room 2A, of the Commission's offices at 
888 First Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426.
