IMPLEMENTING THE BINATIONAL TOXICS STRATEGY
April 27, 1999


Dear Interested Stakeholder:

We would like to cordially invite you to attend the next meeting of the Stakeholders Forum of the Great Lakes Binational Toxics Strategy. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Environment Canada will be hosting this one-day meeting on Tuesday, April 27, 1999, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Delta Chelsea Inn, 22 Gerrard Street West, Toronto, Ontario. Registration with begin at 8:00am.

The purpose of the meeting is for Environment Canada, USEPA, States, Provinces, Tribes/First Nations, industry, environmental groups and other stakeholders to discuss and report on progress-to-date under the Binational Toxics Strategy, and to highlight significant stakeholder reduction activities. There will be a short plenary session in the morning, with breakout sessions for the substance-specific workgroups beginning at 11am. The breakout sessions will provide a forum for the work groups to meet and discuss their efforts on the reduction challenges.

Attached, in preparation for the meeting, please find the following documents: 1) draft agenda; 2) registration form; and 3) logistical information regarding hotels and transportation. Please fax or email the attached registration form as soon as possible but no later than April 19, 1999.

BNS SPRING MEETING HOTEL INFORMATION
The BNS Spring Meeting will be held at

(located in downtown Toronto close to the Eaton Centre and Yonge Street)

A limited number of rooms have been made available at a BNS meeting rate of $129/Sgl (CAD) or $149/Dbl (CAD). You must call the Delta Chelsea Inn directly at 416-595-1975 and 800-268-1133 and mention rate code GTBTS to receive the BNS meeting room rate. All rooms must be reserved by April 3, 1999 in order to receive this rate. If accommodations are not available at the rate requested, a higher rate may apply.

The Airport Express Shuttle Service departs every 20 minutes from Pearson International Airport to the Delta Chelsea Inn. Approximate travel time is one hour. The cost is $12.50 one way or $21.50 round trip.
