Ruddiman Creek/Pond Project

Habitat Restoration Begins at the Ruddiman Creek and Pond Site - April 27, 2006

Habitat restoration has begun at the Ruddiman Creek and Pond site, as the sediment remediation has been completed. Contractors are planting sapling trees and spraying native seed mixtures along the steam banks. The community will provide followup care and monitoring of the restoration areas.

A native seed mixture is sprayed onto a former access road created for the heavy equipment used to dredge the creek. The bright green color of spray allows the contractor to see where it had been applied and ensures even coverage. Nutrients in the spray enhance seed germination
