Project Highlights:

Coordinate waterbird research and management activities across disciplines and jurisdictional boundaries
Coordinate and perform frequent bird population surveys
Host and organize summit meetings on colonial waterbird issues
Conduct research on species of concern including least terns, black skimmers, snowy and piping plovers
Implement strategies for nest-site enhancement including decoy placement, construction of roosting platforms and nesting pads
Increase public awareness of unlawful activities that damage rookeries
Develop a waterbird management plan for the Coastal Bend
