Photo 3: Dr. Nan Walker, a research scientist at Louisiana
State University's Coastal Studies Institute in Baton Rouge, La., (pictured
on the left), will also work on the EMPACT project by assisting with daily
satellite images of the area. With these real-time data, if algal blooms
develop, more intensive field work and satellite imagery analysis can
be initiated by both the U.S. Geological Survey and LSU.
