Photo 6: Crabber Marc Frickey, boat driver Ivy Gisclaire, and commercial fisherman Henry Duffourc run crab traps on Lake Salvador in Jefferson Parish, La. The EMPACT project will provide commercial fishmen like Frickey and Duffourc with real-time data to better manage their fishing practices before and after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers begins diverting freshwater from the Mississippi River into Davis Pond in 2001.
