EPA Facility Water Management Progress

EPA has 25 signed water management plans (WMPs) covering 27 of its reporting facilities. The Agency continues to make water management a priority by revisiting and updating older WMPs and incorporating water conservation strategies at many facilities. This matrix shows water use in FY 2008 compared to average water use from FY 2003 to FY 2007 for each facility with a WMP. It also lists each best management practice (BMP) implemented at each facility according to the facility's most recent WMP.

2 Kansas City Science and Technology Center came online in the third quarter of FY 2003. FY 2004 was the facility's first full year of water consumption data.

3 EPA prepared one WMP to cover Research Triangle Park (RTP) New Main, RTP Child Care facility, and RTP National Computer Center.

4 RTP National Computer Center and RTP Child Care facility did not report water consumption independently until FY 2007. Before FY 2007, these facilities' water consumption was included in RTP Main's totals.

5 Water use at RTP Main includes makeup water for the Central Utility Plant.
