| Community Profile The City of Beaverton has been a progressive leader in the use and installation of renewable energy, demonstrating its strong commitment to sustainability. Since 2007, Beaverton has purchased green power for all of its facilities and has activley supported building energy efficiency retrofits and changing streetlights to more efficient technologies to reduce electricity use. The City's Solar Beaverton program also educated and empowered City residents to produce and use renewable energy if possible and to purchase green power. The City's green power purchase is part of a larger, comprehensive long term sustainability program. | |
