| Community Profile Palo Alto has a longstanding commitment to green power. In fact, Palo Alto was the first community in California to be certified as a Green Power Community by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Thanks to over 6,000 residents and businesses who participate in PaloAltoGreen, Palo Alto is steadily moving towards its community-wide goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 5 percent by 2012, as called for in the City’s Climate Protection Plan. | |
